We can trust God's plans as we realize that His story is being written in ours. His power is perfected in the broken places we consider to be our greatest weaknesses--our most vulnerable emotions we don't want anyone to know about. In those hiding places, God calls us out of captivity. When we're willing to let Him, He brings hope for our future despite the pain of our past.

This is by far one of the most eye opening statements I have read in a long time! If you haven't heard of Renee Swope, she is a writer/blogger who wrote a book called "A Confident Heart." It's all about how to stop doubting yourself and living in the security of God's promises...it's a MUST READ!!
If you've read the previous posts, you would realize that my past hasn't always been pretty.
I've been passed on from one doctor to another, confusing at it is, every doctor is different and has their own opinion. I've been awake for surgeries because anesthesia didn't work, scarring me for life. I've had doctors repeatedly ask me inappropriate questions in front of my Mother and I've left the hospital worse than when I went in because doctors had no clue what to do with me...sometimes I even felt like they didn't care.
So no, it hasn't been all that glamorous.
Everyone knows life has it's ups and downs. One day you're on top of the world and the next day you're a cloud. Our life doesn't always go as planned because God simply has something much more amazing scheduled. Maybe you can't see or understand his Will right at this very moment, but I promise you, He has your comeback in your future and it will be glorious!
"Be still in the presence of the Lord,
and wait patiently for Him to act.
Don't worry about evil people who prosper
or fret about their wicked schemes."
Psalm 37:7-9

After being sick for so long and creating so much stress on my family, while having a lot of friends walk away from being just that, I began to walk in a big shadow of doubt. I began to tell myself that I was this huge burden to my family and just simply not needed and never good enough...I was creating more of a problem than anything.
I never really thought of my future as being bright & joyful, but I started to learn by reading the Bible and devotional books that when I allow God to enter into all of these broken places in my life, He will do something amazingly beautiful, creating hope for a prosperous future.
I started releasing all of those negative emotions: fear, disappointment, regrets, shame, doubts. God has slowly taught me that He wants me to DEAL with my past, but He doesn't want me to DWELL in it.
Looking back, God has shown me how far I have come and how much closer I am to Him because of all of those things that have happened. Some events took me far away from God. Some made me question Him. He is willing to set us free from the captivity of our past and heal us with His love.
Broken things can become blessed things if you let God do the mending!
"You can't go back and change the circumstances or relationships that have wounded you, but you can go back and process the pain with Jesus. In fact, you won't move forward with God until you do." (Renee Swope)

God has a purpose for each one of us. That's right, He has a plan for YOUR life! No matter the things that you have done or the events that have happened to you, He wants to use all of it to prepare you for your wonderful future with Him.
Process the pain of your past and learn through all of your disappointments. Face any fears that you may have about tomorrow! Doubts may still creep into your life and when that happens, seek God's perspective in that place.
I've always felt broken--pieces of me have always been missing. God has lifted my heavy heart and filled it with His love to ultimately transform it into a happy heart. I've never felt beautiful, even when I won the title of a "pageant queen." As I look back on the timeline of my life, God simply made me more beautiful by each thing that had happened to me...I just didn't realize it until I became closer to Him.
I was so taken back from all the pain of my past that I didn't take the time to listen to the things that God wanted me to hear. Leslie Ludy once said that "we won't have true beauty until He transforms us from the inside out." God lets that transformation happen all throughout our futures. Over time, He has made me beautiful. Not everyone may see it, but He simply does. And that's all I need.
"He has made everything beautiful in its time."
Ecclesiastes 3:11
