Do you not know that your bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit,
who is in you, whom you have received from God?
You are not your own; you were bought at a price.
Therefore honor God with your bodies.
-1 Corinthians 6:19-20
I took advantage of eating all the "bad" foods that I couldn't enjoy before and unfortunately, it took a toll on my body over time in the past year.
After moving back home in January, I started doing mini workouts and doing cardio here and there, but nothing too intense. With the crazy weather changes, my body couldn't keep up with a daily program anyways.
Last Monday I decided to start the Focus T25-Alpha program and I've stuck with it! I am so PROUD of myself that I am able to do something so great for my body. The more I workout and the healthier I eat, the greater my tummy (and body) feels!
A lot of people with chronic pain are afraid to start an exercise regimen because it's quite painful to begin, but it's totally worth it in the end!! It may make me extremely tired on some days, but a little cat nap afterwards usually helps and I'm good to go. Since I'm finishing up my second week, I decided to start a cleanse to help me jump start my weight loss a little more. I'm in no way, shape or form calling myself overweight or at an unhealthy weight, I'm just trying to get back to my "normal" body weight in the pictures above...and I'd really like to fit into ALL of my clothes! LOL
Yesterday I started the Total Lean 7 Day Fast Loss Program that I found at my local GNC. The whole package was 1/2 off at the time and was around $37. The package includes 7 individual packets of Vanilla Bean Whey Protein, 7 individual packets of Swiss Chocolate Whey Protein, 7 Diet Paks (each containing 2 Green Tea capsules, 2 Burn 60 capsules, and 1 Waterex capsule), and 7 Pre-Diet Cleanses. The package also comes with an explanation of what each item does and a sample diet that is very simple and easy to follow.
Day 1:
Weight- 155.0 lbs.
I woke up early & took my first Diet Pak with a bottle of Mixed Berry Green Tea. I also blended a packet of Vanilla Bean Whey with 1 cup of Blueberries, Ice and water to make a very thick and delicious protein shake before my workout.
At the moment I am on Week 2 of the T25 Alpha program and the Diet Pak gave me enough energy to workout a little longer than usual! As recommended, I took the capsules about 30 minutes before I started my workout. I definitely noticed that I did sweat more which is a side effect that they mention!
After my workout, I had a cup of Green Grapes. My diet deters from the sample diet they provide due to all of my illnesses, although their diet is very close to mine I don't want to take any chances! :) I also drank water infused with Lemon and Lime slices, with a little packet of Stevia to sweeten it up.
For meal #3, I brewed up some Traditional Medicine Chocolate tea. With my IBS, this tea really helps to soothe all of my intestines so I'm not in as much pain. Along with my chocolate herbal tea, I had a can of Progresso Light Sante Fe Style Chicken--it's excellent!! And finished off with some more water & a bottle of Green Tea.
As an afternoon quick snack, I blended a Swiss Chocolate packet with 1 tbsp. of Maranathas All-Natural No-Stir Peanut Butter, a bottle of Svelte's Organic Cappucino Protein drink, and Ice. It tasted JUST like a Peanut Butter Chocolate Milkshake!! It was so thick and creamy! (I also had a 60-calorie packet of croutons. I eat these when my tummy is upset before storms like today, but not on a daily basis!)
For my Supper, I had another can of Progresso Light Southern Style Vegetable soup. I'm a soup and salad person, so my diet is pretty basic. About an hour or so afterwards, my Mother had fried up some mushrooms so I had about 3 little ones! YUMMMMY, my favorite!!
Before I went to bed, I took my first Pre-Diet Cleanse mixed with 4 oz. of cold water, along with peppermint tea.
Throughout the day, I also took two Garcinia Cambogia chews to help with my cravings and to be sure that I didn't overindulge when I did eat my meals.
I was really worried that the Pre-Diet Cleanse would taste bad, but it didn't at all!
This morning I woke up and weighed myself:: 153.8!
It's all water weight, but it made me feel so good! :)
I can wait to see the progress over the next 6 days!
This program is just a jump-start to a long term diet regimen and is mainly used to help balance water, give you energy and flush out all the toxins that your body is holding on to. It has made me feel a lot more energized, but I probably won't do this again for a while. There's honestly no need to if you keep on track with healthy eating and exercising.
I'm learning to honor God in all ways of life, taking care of my health is one of the many ways to do so.
Creating a more balanced, Godly lifestyle is crucial to having a healthy relationship with the Lord. I believe He has given me all these illnesses and struggles so that I will never take my health for granted ever again...and I'm very grateful that He did that.
Isaiah 58:11 says, "The Lord will guide you continually, watering your life when you are dry and keeping you healthy, too. You will be like a well watered garden like an ever flowing spring."
Don't put off having a healthy lifestyle, start today. It may be difficult and you may not see the results right away, but God will be right by your side through it all and in the end it will be worth it.
